Jason Lewis graduated
from the classical percussion program at San Jose State University,
under the direction of Tony Cirone of the San Francisco Symphony, with
a Bachelor of Arts in music. A drummer of impressive facility and versatility,
he has worked with the likes of Kurt Elling, Joshua Breakstone, Mark
Murphy, Norma Winstone, Larry Coryell, John Handy, Peter Apfelbaum,
Cornelius Bumpus, Harvey Wainapel and John Stowell.
He has performed
with the San Jose Symphony and the San Jose Civic Light Opera. Lewis
can be heard on the movie soundtracks for "Affliction" and "Albino Alligator,"
and on recordings by Djivan Gasparyan & Michael Brook, Julia Fordham,
Jim Campilongo and Tim Volpicella.
Lewis is also a
fine composer; his compositions are performed as part of Dyer's regular
repetoire, and are featured on Paul Nagel's recording, Trio. |
